Back in April of 1993, author Hiawatha Cromer suffered from much discomfort in her right leg. She weighed 220 lbs. and knew that she needed help. Also along the way, she took a job as a kitchen manager for Creative Health Institute (CHI). Little did she know, her job will become the turning point in her life.
Eating Raw, Living Well written by Hiawatha Cromer, provides some living food recipes she learned to develop and prepare while she serves as director, instructor and kitchen manager at CHI from 1993 to 2001, and with The Assembly of Yahweh Wellness Center beginning in 2001. Some of these recipes were created by participants in the program while a few have come from other sources.
Living food is nourishment that is easy to digest. This nourishment is provided through the use of seeds, nuts, grains, fruits and vegetables prepared by various techniques that are simple and inexpensive. It includes blending, fermentation and the use of sprouting and growing greens indoors. Living food is an energy provider as well. It has the ability to cleanse the body of toxins that have accumulated in the body and rebuild it in a natural way, thus returning to the quality of life the Creator intended for all to enjoy — total health and well-being.
Eating Raw, Living Well imparts to readers not only about living food recipes and how it should be prepared. It is also about how to adopt a healthy lifestyle by having important, energy-giving nourishment that builds all-around health, boost self confidence, and provides a keen sense of life responsibility and self respect. Indeed, healthy eating lets everyone experience a sense of freedom from any unbalanced states of body and mind.
